We all watched in horror how the oceanfront Miami Beach building collapsed trapping and killing countless people and children. No one has mentioned the pets but I am sure they were there too.
It was obvious that no one could be rescued but the attempts needed to be made while we held on to hope and pushed back despair.
The recue search had ended, the standing part of the building has been torn down and the mourning and law suits have taken over. This is how we live and die.
In passing I caught a story about the collaped building and wished I had never seen it. A men tells the events of how his wish had recently died of cancer. Both his mother and father died of Coronavirus this past December. He tells how he decided to purchase a beachfront vacation property for his family to have a place to gather and recover from so much pain of loss. His son, his daughter-in-law and his two grandchildren are caught in the debris. When is enough enough I asked myself and now I pass this question on to you.
The part of me that emotes went into shutdown and rage overtook me. These deaths and loss of property were totally avoidable. This entire scenario could and should have been prevented. All parties involved in the existence of this damaged property knew of the damage and it could and eventually would collapse causing this disaster. These property sold for one quarter to three quarter million dollars. Prior to issuing insurance, building permits, appraisals, inspection certificates and a long list of other permits everyone knew of the existence of damage to the structure. Pictures with cracks in structural walls and leaks into the parking which was located beneath the communal swimming pool were in plain sight. All parties involved took their check and left the owners hanging with their lies. Of course plausible deniability will be used to salvage the cost of this loss and diminish accountability. Greed is king and it has committed murder. These events cannot be covered with money alone. Some people responsible to be charged with homicide. I say enough is enough.
