Pfizer is presenting their case to government and civil committees for adding a booster to our dual vaccine to prevent Corvid contamination. Keeping in mind that these vaccines and the disease that haunts us are new and untested, it makes sense that the pharmaceutical could not measure for how long the vaccine was effective. They are now saying that the life of the vaccine is around the six month mark. If my recollection is correct formal vaccination started around January 2021, meaning that this past July would be the date the vaccine is rendered no longer effective or maybe less effective.
During it’s most potent period the vaccine is 95% effective containing the virus. It’s never safe to bring down your guard or take off your mask since the vaccine is never 100% protection against the contamination of the virus. That 5% window allows the 30% of the population or 98.46 million unvaccinated people to contaminate you.
Now factor into this scenario the new Delta variant and we have to come to terms that the Pandemic will remain with us for some time to come. I just read the other day that 250,000 children have become contaminated in the USA within one week.
We must continue to double mask, wash up, stay distant and stay home. Survival of the fittest translates to doing everything in our power to stay alive.
UPDATE : Yesterday, September 17th, 2021, the FDA denied the need for overall, everyone, need for booster vaccination. They did agree to the mentioned booster for people over 65 and those with serious conditions. People under 65 are being left to fend for themselves. Sorry times.
