When someone shows you their true face, believe them the first time. I read a similar comment in a Meme several years ago and it stuck to me. It struck a chord, a very deep one.

Wanting to think the best of people may put us at a disadvantage when faced with not-so-nice people. Reflecting upon this concept took me down memory lane and to the discovery that hidden enemies do show themselves as such. We just don’t want to see them, really see them. This flaw in judgement too often comes back to haunt us. Without becoming cynics we can pay closer attention to our inner voices and act responsibly, in self-defense. Much heartbreak could and would be avoided creating a happier more productive life for ourselves. After all, we are responsible for our own happiness and how we achieve it.

John F. Kennedy once said : ” Forgive your enemy, but never forget his name.” You may want to add, ” Walk away.” to President Kennedy’s sage advice.

This concept could be a valuable lesson for our children to learn early in life, making their path easier, less bumpy. This lesson would be a true gift. Think about the times that you ‘knew” you should have walked away and didn’t. Think about all the troubles that could have been averted. At times, we are like moths flying towards the burning light bulb. Let’s re-think how to beat these odds and increase our happiness quotient. Be happy. Be safe.

Also, the Orchids with monkey faces are real. They grow in high regions in Peru. Nature is awesome.
