Some people are time-obsessed. I am one of them. This does not mean I’m staring at my watch all day long. The type of time that I am invariably attracted to is spacetime—that rapid ordeal when everything happens, and we roam around somewhere during our existence. The following passage written by philosopher Albert Camus gives the feeling, distinct and exact, that we have somehow, somewhere, met. Wishful thinking? Most likely, but I’m entitled to my craziness, as are you.
Camus touches my heart each time I read this. I hope it does the same for you.
He said,
“In the midst of hate, I found there was, within me, an invincible love.
In the midst of tears, I found there was, within me, an invisible smile.
In the midst of chaos, I found there was, within me, an invincible calm.
I realized, through it all, that in the midst of winter, I found there was, within me, an invincible summer.
And that makes me happy, for it says that no matter how hard the world pushes against me, within me, something is stronger-something better, pushing right back.” -Albert Camus
