Metaverse is a broad term. It generally refers to shared virtual world environments which people can access via the internet. The term can refer to digital spaces which are made more lifelike by the use of virtual reality (VR) or augmented reality. (Reuters)
The metaverse would be a massive communal cyberspace, linking augmented reality and virtual reality together, enabling avatars to hop seamlessly from one activity to the next. The metaverse could need the use of a smart wristband and VR goggles.
The word on the street is that Facebook will be rebranding itself into a metaverse. Read the fine print before you sign up. They want our souls and not giving them mine.
