My addiction isn’t to cigarettes, wine or even chocolate. My lifetime addiction is to beauty, in all it’s shapes and forms. All things beautiful hold me and intoxicate me.
There is such an abundance of this substance known as beauty that it can only be witnessed with love and gratitude. Those of us who share this blissful need for beauty live happy lives looking, smelling, listening, touching. Watching a movie repeatedly because you like the artwork on the walls. ( Sabrina) Listening to the same piece of music and never feeling satiated (Flower Duet).
I wonder if beauty recognizes itself. It it feels a completeness that satisfies it’s own existence. Is there simple beauty? Is all beauty complex? Is complex beauty mashed into simplicity that brings forth the allure to our addicion. Made simple so we can comprehend it.
We will never know the answers to these questions and they are of no importance. What is important is that we feed our endless, heart wrenching desire for all forms of beauty. Be thankful that your senses skipped the horrors and landed on the all healing heart of the beautiful.
