It would be easy for me to just sit here and write about this until the sun and moon continue to surround me and my hands just remain stuck to this keyboard. That is how important this Georgia runoff election is. It is our only route to save ourselves and what is left of this planet. So this sounds dramatic, well, it is. The good news is that President-elect Joe Biden has been certified as the winner of Georgia’s 2020 presidential election. This gives an indication of how this runoff will fall. But wait, what if the people of the great state of Georgia encounter unknown difficulties such as illness or death during a raging Pandemic. Things happen and the way this year has unfolded it’s fair to say they unfold to hurt us unless we take precise and definitive action. I’m being told, by friends on the ground in Georgia that 23,000 young people who were not old enough to vote in the general election this year, will be eligible to vote in the runoff election for US Senate in January 2021 IF they register by December 7th, 2020.
This entire scenario had my mind involuntarily wandering to the 1981 Australian post-apocalyptic film ” Mad Max”. That specific scene where the giants head gear is taken off revealing an innocent huge baby just doing what his brother, the midget, directed. The images fit, in my mind, to perfection. Donald J Trump plays the muscle, the unattractive giant signing lives away with lethal Executive Orders while the real dander, Mitch McConnell, holds the real power over everyone and everything. This Georgia runoff election would slay the head that keeps us down, hungry, sick and with no future. By electing the two Democratic candidates to the Senate the political playground becomes 50 Senators on each side and the Senate party system and the vote decider would/will be Vice-President elect Senator Kamala Harris.
So this is not a simple runoff election taking place in Georgia, USA. This is not just another blah blah. This is everything. A very wise and wonderful man, Steve Jobs, once said that ” if you define the problem correctly, you almost have the solution. ” We we stand with the solution within our grasp. Let’s save each other, let’s make this happen. Georgia is on my mind!!!
