Ohayo Gozaimasu. Good Morning, Japan.

Since I was a child I’ve been fascinated by Geisha’s. No reason in particular. No one in my family shared this interest nor was it ever mentioned. I must have seen an image somewhere and it clicked and this sense of knowing has remained with me my entire life. One interest lead to many others. Samurai’s and their honor code. Tea and all the beautiful rituals surround it. Zen and the knowledge that words are limits we need to learn how to free ourselves from. Dragonware and all its beauty and detail. Movies with meanings within meanings. Bonsai’s and their surreal forest. Food meant to be pleasing while looking like art. Kimono’s which are a combination of comfort and elegance. Many parts of Japanese life and history have found their way into my like and I want to say thank you and ohayo gozaimasu.
