More than 94 percent of all species, amounting to over five billion species, that ever lived on Earth are estimated to have died out. Estimates on the number of Earth’s current species range from 10 million to 14 million, of which 1.2 million have been documented and over 86 percent have not yet been described. (Wikipedia)

The Earth is losing animal species at 1,000 to 10,000 times the natural rate. (weather.com)

What is happening to our environment is a subject of extreme interest to me since forever. This little blog is more about my wondering how the very last member of a species must feel. I wonder if they know what is happening to them. I imagine not since human beings are oblivious to their ticker tape number on the soon to become endangered list. We fail at too many levels to mention by not seeing or understanding the enormity of the death of a species. My new my of looking at these events is that they rest at last. RIP
