Two decades ago, while researching her doctoral thesis, ecologist Suzanne Simard discovered that trees communicate their needs and send each other nutrients via a network of latticed fungi buried into the soil.

In other words, she discovered that they speak and help each other. I always knew. My love of trees has been a part of me since childhood. It’s fair to say that I hugged trees even before the term was coined.

What language do they use? Maybe some code older than time. Maybe images. Science has discovered that trees have a system similar to a heartbeat, pulsating and moving essential liquids throughout their bodies. They are sentient, communicate and have a heatbeat. So many mysteries yet to be discovered.
