“The ability to observe without evaluating is the highest form of intelligence.”
This meme crossed my path a couple of months ago and the imageplus the statement seemed interesting at the time. But something felt off. I let it sit. It finally dawned on me that to observe without evaluating has nothing to do with intelligence and everything to do with recording events.
Now, if I may add, the ability to observe without judging could be one of the highest forms of intelligence. When you extract the judgement to the act of observation you are allowing new information to filter through our set norms and new ideas may come to light.
