Recently, a comment made by artist Madonna, calling out rapper? 50Cents for attempting to shame her because of some sexy pictures of herself that she had posted. 50Cents wrote something about she being too old for these kind of images. She responded by sharing an old picture of herself and 50Cents, captioned by a comment along the lines that the picture was taken when he pretended to be her friend and now he needed the exposure by shaming her.

Look through the 1,000 posts contained within this blog and you will not find one mention of gossip. It’s not our thing. This event between Madonna and 50Cents caught my attention because of Madonna’s poignant response. Men shaming women. Men using women. Same old, same old. The part that is new and refreshing is her slap-back, while wearing a knuckle-ring.

This drama pod continued to play in my mind. Madonna, who at a very young age had dinner from the neighborhood trash bin. I’ve always liked her drive, her talent, her insatiable appetite for all things sexual, her fearlessness. She singlehandedly redefined the meaning of integrated races. She did this in her music videos, in her life and in her family.

Time and age have not tamed Madonna but made her better at her art. The old formulas that you die, as a woman, once past menopause has been put to the test and she won. 63. Hot. Sexy. Alive. Happy.

It’s been a long road from dinner at the trash can to a $850 million net worth. A fortune carved from talent, hard work and insatiable appetite for life and living. She did not get a paid by papa Harvard graduation and seed money to start anything afterwards. Eating from the trash can is pretty low and look and see her now. We salute you Madonna. Long life.
