Romance is in the air as Valentine’s Day swiftly approaches this upcoming February 14th. There is private romance and there is public romance. I favor the private romance; intimate gestures, meaningful and memorable moments. Both sides to this coin are wonderful. Romance is romance and emotions are meant to be expressed anyway you want.
This special day creates an inherent desire to please our most desired object of love. Romantic gestures transform the takers into givers and the givers into takers. True bliss! It’s a dance, older than time, attempting to stop time and re-enact and re-connect at a higher level to the sublime.
So plan that outfit, the dinner, the babysitter and flow. Love is one the strongest and most precious emotions that we have. Step into your personal time capsule and enjoy the ride.
One of my favorite movies, “Moonstruck” says it better than I can. During the heated dialogue between Cher and Nicolas Cage’s characters, he says: ” …Love don’t make things nice. It ruins everything. It breaks your heart. It makes things a mess. We aren’t here to make things perfect. The snowflakes are perfect. The stars are perfect. Not us. We are here to ruin ourselves and to break our hearts and love the wrong people and die.”
