Just like everyone else, I was taught and fed the birth, life, and death of kings, queens, princesses, lords, and all the other titled humans with special birthrights and their great gems and fortunes. The present-day royalty appears fixated, varnished, and half hidden and half showed. Standing with their hands crossed over their privates as if that made them perfect.
Just like most people I’ve been interested in the movies, the stories, the dramas of these very special people. Opulent, in-bred, and suddenly to my mind’s eyes, they appear utterly useless. In order to perpetuate their wealth and status they comply with these frozen-in-life scenes, which are meant to ingratiate us to their brand. Maybe my salad dressing was past its due date or something else prompted me to disconnect from the feed that goes wow and decided to sort of change the angle of my camera which connects to my mind. There it is again, that word, they are useless. They occupy space, breathing air and that is about it. Charities could exist without them, their military would be safer without worrying about a royal taking a bullet, and their indiscretions would be nonsense to us.
Unless the monarchy in question actually rules a country, such as Jordan and others, they are ornamental, in a bad way. They keep the term classist alive and breathing. If you allow yourself to step back and listen, in your mind, to these titles, they are ridiculous and funny. Being born to a particular family could entitle you to be called ” Your Royal Highness” while having people bow before you, walk steps behind you, and all sorts of other senseless shenanigans.
The world would be a better place if these lovely people became private citizens and were allowed to live and breathe freely. Life within the monarchic system is equal to living in a small cage, in the middle of a zoo, while people throw half-chewed popcorn at you. Of course, they don’t know any other way of life, but that’s not our problem. Let them learn the ways of the world. The existence of monarchies explodes with hypocrisy.
The world and the civilizations within are thriving to overcome our shortcomings and become more, better, more civil, and more inclusive. People strutting around born ‘being’ above everyone else is a misnomer in grave need of repair. Let’s declare them free and bid them farewell and so long. Thanks for reading.
